Founded in 2014, Resolution Design has become a dependable choice in medium to large-scale residential and commercial developments across New Zealand. Our team
Sunil Bakshi
BBSc, BAS, MArch(Prof)(Merit)
Founder + Director
Sunil brings over a decade of experience in architecture, development planning, and regulatory expertise. With a portfolio spanning over $375M in built projects, he combines design excellence with a deep understanding of buildability, compliance, and strategic planning.
Sunil holds a Master of Architecture (Professional) with Merit, alongside degrees in Architectural Studies and Building Science from Victoria University of Wellington. A registered LBP designer and NZIA member, he’s also a published author and former lecturer, known for his thoughtful, outcome-driven approach to development.
Chris Sutherland
BScTech(Hons), PGDipBus
General Manager
Chris has been heavily involved in property development and project management since 2014, delivering over $280m of housing across Auckland. Whilst navigating the complexities of development in our largest city, he’s been exposed to all facets of the process – from land acquisition, concept design, consenting, and construction tendering, through to sales and marketing, subdivision sign-offs, and handing over the keys. An accomplished musician, he also speaks Russian and French, and enjoys fast motorbikes and slow weekends.
Michaela Oliver
Business Development Manager
Michaela is a BDM with over 10 years’ experience in the building industry. Her background spans stakeholder engagement, project resourcing, and property development, including involvement in major infrastructure alliances and landmark residential projects. With commercial insight and a strong client focus, she supports strategic growth and helps build lasting partnerships that align with the goals of each project.
Hanyu Wang

Intermediate Architectural Technician
Hanyu is an intermediate architectural graduate with a detail-oriented and design-conscious approach. She values thoughtful, practical solutions and enjoys working in collaborative environments. With an interest in compliant, well-resolved architecture, she brings a calm and considered perspective to her work.

Daniel is an Architectural Technician with a passion for turning ideas into beautifully detailed spaces. With experience across residential, civic, and infrastructure projects, he brings sharp technical skills and a problem-solving mindset to every brief. He’s excited to be a part of Resolution Design and contribute to thoughtful, high-quality architecture with a creative team.
